Rock #42 Encouring Words

For this one, I was testing out my new CraftSmart Paint Pens that I got from Michael's for $8 for the set.  I wrote the words (Love, Trust, Believe, Inspire, and Smile) on the rock each in a different colored pen.  I then used some of the other pens to fill in the space with some dot flowers. #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment

Rock #41 Purple with Lines

I was testing some ideas I had on this rock.  First I put rubber bands around the rock, trying to make them as flat against the rock as possible.  I then used spray paint to paint it purple.  After it dried, I took off the rubber bands.  The results weren't quite what I was expecting, so the rock sat on my table for a long time as I debated on just completely starting over with the rock or not.  I decided I would paint each line a different color.  It turned out ok, but not my favorite. #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment

Rock #40 Sprial Rainbow Dots

It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but the dots start in the middle and sprial around the rock.  The dots spread out the further away from the center it gets.  I want to try this technique again, but fill in the spaces, so it's more like a defined line. #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment

Rock #39 Enjoy Life

I used left over paint from several different rocks to paint the background on this rock.  It sat on my table for quite some time because I couldn't decide what to do with it.  I decided to write "Enjoy Life" on it. #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment

Rock #38 Fairy on Rainbow

I used left over paint from rock #40 to do the rainbow background.  I used a vinyl stencil for the fairy, but it pulled up a lot of paint and looked like a blob rather than a fairy.  I then tried to cut a stencil from paper to use to make it look more like a fairy.  It helped some, but I had to do a lot of touch up and free hand to make it look like a fairy again.  #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment.

Rock #37 Music is Love

This started out as a black background.  I then used a vinyl stencil for the treble clef.  After touching up the paint that was pulled up from the vinyl, I outlined the treble clef with a red Gelly Roll pen.  I used the white Gelly Roll pen to write "Music is... Love!" #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment This was originally abandoned at WalMart on Rimrock.

Rock #36 Tiger Paw Dot Art

I got this idea from Pinterest but modified it to be a tiger paw not a dog paw. I started with a black background then used vinyl as a stencil for the paw.  Touched up the paint that was pulled off with the vinyl and then added the silver dots outlining the paw.  I then filled in the rest of the space with different colored orange dots.  #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment
This was originally abandoned in the Copy Room at GJHS.  Jen took it and placed it somewhere new. :)

Rock #35 When Words Fail, Music Speaks! black background with Rainbow

I did this one starting with a black background then put a vinyl sticker (cut with my Silhouette Cameo) and painted the rainbow over it.  The sticker pulled up the paint, so I had to do some touch up. I then used my Gelly Roll pens to write the saying "When words fail, Music Speaks!" #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment

Rock #34 Rainbow Fairy Believe

For this rock, I started with the black background.  I then used a vinyl sticker that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo and painted the rainbow over the sticker.  I then pulled the vinyl off to reveal the black underneath.  Unfortunately it also pulled off the black paint when I pulled off the sticker, so I had to repaint the area where the sticker was.  I then added the word believe with one of my Gelly Roll pens. #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment
I left this in the lobby at Jeff's Automotive to replace the turtle that had been there for over a month.

Rock #33 Stainglass Flower

I got this idea from Pinterest.  I used puff paint to make the outline and the dots around the edge.  I then used water colors to color the inside of the flower to make it look like stained glass. #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment This was originally abandoned at Sam's Club during the pouring rain.

Rock #32 Bird on a vine

Rock #28 Bloom Where You Are Planted

This idea came from this Program that we get at church.  I drew it directly onto the rock with Sakura Gelly Rolls Pens. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but it turned out cute. #GJRATA GJ Rocks & Art Treasures Abandonment Originally abandoned in the rocks near the Verizon Store on 25 Rd.
